Frequently asked questions

Gross yield is your annual rent as a percentage of the property purchase price, before any costs are deducted. Net yield goes further and subtracts running costs, including letting agent fees, insurance, maintenance, ground rent or service charges, and an allowance for void periods, giving a much more realistic picture of your actual return. Many sites only show gross yield, which can make a property look far more attractive than it really is.
